As winter 2016 wraps up and we look to Spring, we did get to enjoy some decent snowfall in the Sierras this past season. DRB’s Chief Danger Ranger was able to put these Norwegian made Fimbulvetr “Rangr” model snowshoes to good use during a weekend out in the mountains of CA.
Made from DuPont™ Hytrel®, a thermoplastic elastomer, these snowshoes proved to be some of the most maneuverable, light weight and forgiving he has ever used. The bindings will fit just about any suitable outdoor footwear and were easy on-off. Flotation was great with a 30lb pack load and easily could have supported more in the fresh and packed powder.
Available in several colors including black, red and white as pictured- if you wanted to mount an assault on Hoth! Not the cheapest snowshoe on the market, but highest marks for design and some of the best we’ve ever seen and used. Winter 2016 has finally paid off with some late season snow fall in the Sierras and we hope to get more time in these soon!
